Geocaching

Geocaching has become a fun outdoor activity, especially for people traveling the long highways of the West. Geocaching is a “treasure hunting” game played with GPS devices. The idea is to locate various hidden containers, called geocaches, with GPS coordinates that you find online at www.geocaching.com

Once found, a cache may contain a variety of items. Visitors are asked if they get something from the cache, they should try to leave something. You can also participate by hiding a geocache and posting the coordinates online.

There are several geocaches in the Winnemucca area. Go online to find the coordinates and have a great time on your “treasure hunt!”
